Visit-timed care

Cosmetic procedures during your India visit

People combine cosmetic procedures with India trips — the pattern made famous by Thailand and Turkey exists here too, at prices that undercut both. This page covers the three procedures that genuinely fit a visit (hair transplant, rhinoplasty, smile makeovers), their realistic windows, and — because this segment earns its caution — the risks taken seriously and the things we refuse to publish.

The three procedures that fit a trip

Procedure Typical stay Before flying Market range
Hair transplant (FUE, 2,000–4,000 grafts) 2–4 days Outpatient; travel feasible within days (protect the grafts) ~$1,000–4,000 (market range)
Rhinoplasty 10–14 days (splint removal) The two-week-trip shape ~$2,000–2,500 (market range)
Smile makeover (veneers) 5–7 days (two sittings) Fly after finishing ~$150–350/tooth (market range)

Market ranges are clinic-advertised figures from published guides (accessed October 2026). What does not fit a trip: body-contouring surgery, facelifts and anything requiring general-anaesthesia recovery beyond two weeks — those are full journeys, planned like any other surgery.

The risks, taken seriously

  • Who treats you matters more than where. Verify the practitioner’s statutory medical registration and the accredited facility the procedure happens in — we do this before any plan reaches you, and you should do it with any provider, anywhere.
  • The revision question before the deposit. Cosmetic work has revision rates like any procedure. What the clinic’s revision arrangement actually is — who pays, who travels — belongs in the written plan, not the small print after something goes wrong.
  • Flying home is not aftercare. Swelling, grafts and healing continue for weeks after you land. A plan that treats your departure as the end of the clinical relationship has told you something important — listen to it.

The visa note

OCI cardholders need no visa. Other foreign nationals: planned procedures are what the e-Medical visa exists for — we coordinate the supporting letter. A cosmetic procedure packaged as a holiday add-on on a tourist visa is an immigration risk we will not help anyone take.

What you pay Medtu Care

We take no commissions from hospitals. Our fees are paid by you, published upfront, and itemized separately from your hospital bill. Practitioners and clinics pay us nothing; you pay them directly. Our fees are the published ladder: see the fee schedule.

Visit cosmetic procedures: FAQs

Why does this page read more carefully than the rest of the visit section?
Because cosmetic work is the segment where medical travel most often goes wrong: decisions get made for aesthetic reasons, marketed with transformations that cherry-pick results, and sold to people flying home before problems appear. We coordinate this category — we will not romanticize it. Everything on this page is structure, windows and process; the outcome talk is left where it belongs, with the surgeon you actually consult.
What does Medtu Care refuse to publish — and why does that matter to you?
Three refusals, all binding on us: no before-and-after imagery (it is the least reliable evidence in existence and our charter bans it), we never promise outcomes or guarantee results, and we endorse no surgeons. If you compare facilitators, treat anyone selling cosmetic work with transformation photos and certainty as the warning sign, not the attraction.
How do I vet a cosmetic practitioner in India properly?
The same way you would at home: the practitioner’s statutory registration, the accredited facility the procedure happens in, anaesthesia arrangements, and what the revision policy actually says. For surgical procedures, the treating doctor’s qualification and registration are checked before a plan reaches you — the same discipline our shortlists apply to every clinical case.
What are the realistic timelines?
Hair transplant is genuinely visit-shaped: a 2–4-day outpatient event with travel feasible within days, protecting the grafts as instructed. Rhinoplasty is a two-week commitment — the splint comes off around day 10–14, which defines the trip. Veneer work runs two sittings across 5–7 days. Anything offering faster than these windows deserves a second opinion before, not after, the deposit.
What does Medtu Care charge?
The same published ladder as everything else: $50 to plan and vet, $150 to review a plan or competing quotes in writing, $1,000 only for journeys with real coordination work. Every fee is credited in full to the next step: the $50 consultation fee comes off the $150 second opinion, and the $150 second-opinion fee comes off the $1,000 full journey fee. You never pay twice for moving forward.
