From Burundi, the funding plan comes first: foreign currency takes real lead time through official channels, and in many cases a relative abroad pays the hospital directly in their own currency, with both payers seeing the same documents. We take no commissions from hospitals. Our fees are paid by you, published upfront, and itemized separately from your hospital bill.

How do I pay from Burundi, given how hard foreign currency is to get?

Foreign currency at home is scarce and access through official channels takes documentation and time, so the funding plan needs to come before the travel plan. In practice, many families have a relative abroad pay the hospital directly in their own currency: the hospital invoices in USD, the payer abroad settles it, and everyone sees the same documents. Where money is sourced within Burundi, start with your bank early and bring the paperwork it can verify: an itemized hospital quote, the visa, the invitation letter. We prepare that file properly, and we never hold treatment money ourselves.
Would Kigali or Nairobi be simpler than India for my case?
Sometimes yes, and we will say so when it is. East Africa’s referral hospitals are growing, they are much closer, and for some procedures the shorter journey wins. India’s case is usually cost for comparable specialist care, and depth in areas like complex cardiac, cancer and transplant work. Which way the balance falls depends on your diagnosis and your budget. That is exactly what the written second opinion and the itemized quotes are for. We only facilitate treatment in India, so if a closer option serves you better, we will tell you and step aside.
